among my earliest memories is a travel wellness ritual administered by my mother: a daily dose of grapefruit seed extract & spirulina in the morning juice (resisted, but never questioned).

After a country childhood in the quiet foothills of the Canadian Rockies, I moved to a big city boarding school with parents on opposite sides of the globe. The resulting shift to an international lifestyle was eye-opening, with routine trips between Holland, Europe and S.E. Asia. My travel lifestyle continued as a jet-setting consultant, peaking with a half-year family sabbatical with my wife and kids. Humbled by these adventures, it instilled in me a big picture respect for sustainability, humanity and holistic health.

At the core, I am most interested in radical innovation, in crafting shifts in sustainability and experience. Perhaps driven by the thrill that such paradigm shifts are elusive and ridiculously hard to realize, I feel that the world can best improve by leaps and bounds - not incremental changes in fashion. I see design, not as a passion, but rather a way of life, it is the best vehicle to bringing about strategic change.

Local Time was conceived for radical change. Through it, I hope as a brand we can realize a paradigm shift in air travel - from survival to wellness, from anxiousness to security, from carefree to conscious.
