FAQ

Product

How many packets can I take in a day?

We recommend 1 packet a day of each formula.

The powder is a little lumpy and settles at the bottom of the glass, why does this happen?

We have chosen to make a product with natural extracts and powders without any extra additives that reduce clumping - not all ingredients tend to mix evenly in water. Warm drinks usually make it easier to mix, or you can blend into a smoothie if you just don’t like the texture. Do what works best for you!

Can I take the Local Time products if I am on medication?

We recommend that you consult with your healthcare practitioner before taking our products.
Can I take the Local Time products while pregnant/breastfeeding?
All of our products are totally natural, highly nutritious, food-based supplements. However, we’re unable to endorse them for pregnant or breastfeeding women as there has not been any studies that specifically demonstrate their safety for these sensitive demographics. For this reason we advise you to not use at this time.
Do Local Time products contain maltodextrin?
Yes. Due to the limitations of our manufacturers, at this stage in our development we're relying on maltodextrin (in synthetic form) as the binding agent of our ingredients – but it's not our final destination. It’s essentially the only thing in our products that isn't "straight from the plant.” As we work with our manufacturers to find alternative options, we’re committed to sharing every single thing that goes into our products in the spirit of transparency.
Why does Rest have melatonin in it and what does it do?

Melatonin is a hormone that helps control your sleep–wake cycles and has been proven to be very effective in helping adjust your circadian rhythm to new time zones. Supplementation is safe in low doses for both short and long term use. However Local Time products are intended to be used short term. Side effects include sleepiness when consumed and some people might experience vivid dreams as well as grogginess in the morning.

How much caffeine does Rise contain?

The rise formula contains guaraná, a shrub from the Amazon. Each stick pack contains 150 mg of guaraná extract which equates to approximately 7 mg of caffeine - less than 1/10thof the caffeine content of a cup of coffee.

Manufacturing

Where are your products manufactured?

All Local Time products are manufactured in the Canada, with ingredients being sourced globally.
What kind of testing do you do on your supplements?

Every ingredient in the the formula is tested for identity, purity, strength and composition. Once the product is mixed and packed, we have it third party tested again. When you read our label, you know exactly what's going in your body. It’s everything you need, and nothing you don’t.

Is this vitamin FDA approved?

By law, the FDA does not approve dietary supplements. However, they do regulate both dietary supplements and dietary ingredients. We follow the “current Good Manufacturing Practice” (cGMP) regulations, established by the FDA for dietary supplements in 2007, which requires manufacturers evaluate products through testing identity, purity, strength and composition. As a consumer, we encourage you to do your own due diligence as well.

How should I store my Local Time products?

We have been on a long hunt for compostable packaging which, for our purposes, is a better option for the environment than recyclable plastic (and also better for you, nothing like some microplastics in your morning smoothie). While the material is certified home compostable, the total packaging may behave differently in various composting contexts. That means, however, that the packaging does its job best to protect the supplements when kept in a dry cool place and preferably out of direct sunlight. Of course, we understand that you will be traveling to humid places – just ensure whenever you can that Local Time products are kept in low humidity and cooler than 40C/104F for long periods.

What is the shelf life of the Local Time products?

Local time products have a shelf life of 90 days once opened, and up to two years if kept in low humidity and temperatures under 40C/104F.
