among my earliest memories is a travel wellness ritual administered by my mother: a daily dose of grapefruit seed extract & spirulina in the morning juice (resisted, but never questioned).
Later, when instructed on the benefits of cat’s claw, sarsaparilla and dragons blood by an Ecuadorian shaman before flying to Southeast Asia, I followed his daily prescription for three months with fidelity without once getting sick. These and other early encounters inspired my fascination with nutritional health, an ever-evolving frontier where old wisdom and new science continue to influence our daily life.
Living in many countries in my 20’s and logging countless hours in airports, runways and flights, I became obsessed with finding ways to beat jet lag, combat radiation and boost immunity and gut health. Weaving ancient plant medicine remedies with modern nutritional practices, I played around with supplements, herbs and adaptogen blends to figure out what worked best for my body across time zones. I also accumulated a bevy of personal travel hacks, which inspired me to learn more about the unseen effects that flying has on our wellbeing.
While Local Time is informed by my profession as a holistic nutritionist, its essence is deeply rooted in my childhood, as I grew up between the forested landscapes of Southern Chile and British Columbia. At home in both the Americas, I cultivated a deep appreciation for the cultural contexts that shape our connection to ourselves and to nature.
If it weren’t for the thrilling idea of building a company that could harness the economic power of every potential consumer to create positive ripples of regeneration, I might never have created one at all. This is where having a co-pilot is mission critical.
- Gabriela Délano-Stephens, Local Time Co-Founder
After a country childhood in the quiet foothills of the Canadian Rockies, I moved to a big city boarding school with parents on opposite sides of the globe. The resulting shift to an international lifestyle was eye-opening, with routine trips between Holland, Europe and S.E. Asia. My travel lifestyle continued as a jet-setting consultant, peaking with a half-year family sabbatical with my wife and kids. Humbled by these adventures, it instilled in me a big picture respect for sustainability, humanity and holistic health.
At the core, I am most interested in radical innovation, in crafting shifts in sustainability and experience. Perhaps driven by the thrill that such paradigm shifts are elusive and ridiculously hard to realize, I feel that the world can best improve by leaps and bounds - not incremental changes in fashion. I see design, not as a passion, but rather a way of life, it is the best vehicle to bringing about strategic change.
Local Time was conceived for radical change. Through it, I hope as a brand we can realize a paradigm shift in air travel - from survival to wellness, from anxiousness to security, from carefree to conscious.

landing on local time is about feeling amazing on arrival: energized, alert, aglow – ready to meet your next adventure, nourished by products that do good by you, & the planet.
we can disrupt the way we think about travel by disrupting the way we travel.
There’s a high cost to the planet every time a flight goes up – from carbon emissions to excessive waste in the form of bottled beverages and overly packaged food. It doesn’t have to be this way.
We’re cultivating a more vital, conscious, connected lifestyle guided by our company Core Values:
living up to our highest aspirations means we’re a work in progress.
The distance we have yet to go as a company, and industry, is great, but like any bold adventure, we’re motivated by the destination and the perspective-shifting discoveries we’ll make along the way.
We’re committed to being a transparent brand that is tirelessly working toward a traceable product.
